Chinese New Year, a photo by junet-- on Flickr.
An important Chinese holiday, Chinese New Year is not just one day. Starting the night before, in this case Sunday night 1/22/12, Chinese families gather for a large feast. Out with the old and in with the new. A good house cleaning, a new outfit, fireworks, special treats and a few days off to spend with family. This is the kind of holiday we celebrate with Christmas and several days off from work. CNY lasts 15 days culminating with the Festival of Lanterns. We want to wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year and promise to do a better job with planning festivities for next year.
